Arcadia
is a small town of approximately 3,000, located in Bienville Parish in north-central Louisiana. With a laid-back atmosphere and the appeal of a small town, Arcadia also offers many of the amenities of a much larger city. The historic downtown has numerous antique shops, specialty shops, restaurants and other businesses serve the needs of both residents and visitors. Arcadia is situated in the heart of Louisiana's Piney Hills Country, where numerous lakes provide a variety of recreational sports like fishing, boating, camping, hiking and hunting. In addition, Scenic Highway 151 from Arcadia takes you on a ride through picturesque small towns, scenic pine woods, cypress bayous and peaceful farms and pastures. Arcadia is home to the unique Bonnie & Clyde Trade Days, which is called "Louisiana's ultimate outdoor bargain shopping experience." It covers 130 acres of scenic woods and gets its name from the notorious outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow who met their demise nearby in 1934. It includes a water front café, three fishing ponds, concerts and a nearby golf course. Other Arcadia attractions include the Bienville Depot Museum and the Civil and Korean War Naval Museum.

North Central Louisiana has a semi-tropical climate that generally remains constant throughout the year. Rainfall and humidity decrease, and daily temperature variations increase, with distance from the Gulf of Mexico. Therefore, north central Louisiana is slightly drier and has slightly cooler temperatures in the wintertime than the southern part of the state. Prevailing winds are from the south or southeast. During the summer and fall, tropical storms and hurricanes frequently batter the state, especially along the coast.
Snow falls occasionally in the north central Louisiana, but rarely in the south.
